DMDS 5.0 has many enhancements that add up to a better overall user experience. Included are:

• Saving and editing lets you begin creating a release, do something else and come back to it. You can also create releases in advance of the availability of the media - Just save the release, and add media as it becomes available.
• Countdowns let you publish releases before their availability while building anticipation by showing recipients exactly when it will be available.
• Expanded access management options let you set the access rights (download or stream-only) based on the destination lists and/or the release itself: For example, send a release simultaneously to a list of bloggers who can stream only and a list of radio station programmers who can stream and download.
• 'Smart Lists' let you quickly define (and save for future access) a custom list of destinations based on attributes. Smart Lists can be narrowly defined like: "Music Directors, Hot AC, Top 40, Mediabase monitored, Texas" or widely defined like: "Alternative, Active Rock, USA"

DMDS 5.0 allows the option of instant exposure of your music by including a quick stream preview of the track directly from the email notification: no log in required! Recipients are just one click from that 'instant on' experience. Full quality streams and downloads are available after logging in to the system.

Send it with Style – New Tools to Make Your Notifications Look Even Better

We've made it faster and easier for you to Create a New Release in 5.0. The new Details Editor has enhanced support for Copying and Pasting content from Microsoft Outlook and Word. That means you can simply copy and paste in your materials and have it look more like the document you prepared. We've also got a nifty little spell checker - to make sure your Release goes out without any errors. You can also Template the look of your page. We've provided a number of customized layout templates for you to utilize - but you (or your website team) can also easily create your own.

You decide on the options- it's your call; you can produce your Release Details with simple and direct styling to get right to the point, or find your 'inner-Picasso' and style it to your heart's content for a more aesthetic presentation.

New DMDS Manager - Packed Full of Features

The former DMDS Agent has now been given its gold watch and retired in favor of the completely redesigned DMDS Manager. Packed full of new features and time savers - it's an exciting new part of DMDS 5.0. Here is a partial list of some of the new features:

• Add all your files; not just music, but videos, graphics, and documents, quickly and easily to your online file manager. These files can then be associated with your releases.
• Update and manage metadata for one or all files with a lightning fast interface.
• Integration of CD Lookup services to make filling in all that information faster and easier,the same way your favorite audio player shows you track and artist info when you pop a CD into your drive. No info available? You can submit it as well!
• Use the DMDS Manager as your CD burning software to burn downloaded files direct to disc.
• A ton of new customizations in user preferences including: Download timers, bandwidth throttling, special network download preferences to make syncing files and data with your scheduling and playback systems faster and easier.

Get Lightning Fast Feedback from PDs, MDs, and All Destinations on Your Release

Another new feature in 5.0 is the ability to enable or disable the 'Comments' module for your Release. When it is enabled - you can set it to function in 'Public' or 'Private' mode. Set it to Public if you want people to be able to comment freely and have anyone logging in as a registered user see those comments. In Private mode, users can post comments and they are only visible to individuals within your organization. If you don't want to utilize comments at all - you can select not to enable it when creating a release - or disable it at any time.
